A former concrete shell, transformed into Barangaroo’s premier cultural destination

Project Overview

The Cutaway at Barangaroo has been transformed from a former concrete shell into a premier cultural destination.

The renewed facility will support a diverse program of performing arts, visual arts, events, and festivals, creating a flexible space for both community and large-scale cultural experiences.

Scope of Work

TTW has provided Structural, Civil, Traffic and Façade Engineering services, including:

  • Engineering design to support flexible fit-out for multiple event and gallery spaces
  • Engineering integration for a dedicated First Nations education space
  • Provision for amenities, office spaces, and supplementary retail and café tenancies
  • Enclosure of existing voids and delivery of a new façade adjacent to Nawi Cove, including associated landscaping
  • Design of primary entry elements, including front glass and stone
  • Engineering of internal features, including glass balustrades and skylights
