A new police station giving Taree’s officers the facilities to serve their community
Project Overview
The new Taree Police Station gives local officers state-of-the-art facilities to serve their community, replacing a building on the site dating back to 1886. Officially opened by the Minister for Police and Emergency Services and the NSW Police Commissioner, the station includes a regional police charge facility, a breath analysis and drug testing facility, workspaces, secure parking and a gym, purpose-built to support the officers who keep the community safe.
At the entrance, the Police Legacy Walk gives the community a way to honour that service too, with engraved pavers carrying the names of officers past and present.
Scope of Work
TTW delivered Structural, Civil, Traffic and Façade Engineering services for the station, including:
- Design of cells with concrete benches in accordance with the Police Building Code
- A large internal atrium featuring a 60sqm skylight
