A 24km green spine, transforming Singapore’s old rail corridor into shared community space
Project Overview
Kaleidoscope Boh Beh Kang gives Queenstown’s community a new gathering place along Singapore’s 24km Rail Corridor. A green spine stretching from Woodlands in the North to Tanjong Pagar Railway Station in the South. The design transforms the sheltered viaduct space under the Queensway Flyover into a multifunctional area for recreation and community life, weaving the area’s rich history into a dynamic, community-focused design.
Designed as a kaleidoscopic tunnel, the project celebrates Queenstown’s past through heritage exhibits, artefacts and storytelling, while creating flexible, multi-purpose spaces for performances and everyday life. Thoughtful engineering transforms a historic corridor into a cultural landmark that brings people together in movement, art and shared experience.
Scope of Work
TTW delivered Civil and Structural Engineering services including:
- Contribution to the award-winning design, developed in collaboration with Designshop Pte Ltd, HKS, Inc., DN+O Engineers LLP, DLS Consultancy Pte Ltd, COEN Design International and Lichtvision Design
- Structural and civil design input supporting the tunnel form and its integration with the Rail Corridor
